Snowdrops

The snowdrops are in flower again, heralding the approach of spring. A week ago they were in bud, and a couple of fine days last week seems to have brought them fully into flower. It never ceases to amaze me how such fragile-looking flowers can be so tough.

They're out here, too.

Though I would not have minded a bit more winter. It was pretty much over afer New Year, and the US got our share of snow and then some. ;)

Gabriele - who knows, you may yet get your wish. Winter can still make a comeback even in late March.

Yeah, but such late snow never stays for long.

Well, I found a different solution. I'm going to travel where the winter is - north of the polar circle. :) I'm going to do my dream tour with one of the Hurtigrouten ferries along the Norwegian coast all the way from Bergen to Kirkenes and back. It is much cheaper in winter and I'll manage to keep the whole trip (including overnight stays in Bergen and Trondheim) within budget. Barely. ;)

Gabriele - Have a wonderful trip! When are you going?

Carla, end of March and I'll be away for about three weeks. Wanted to catch the time when there's still snow in the north but already enough daylight. I can imagine the polar night would be beautiful but it won't make for much photographing. ;)
