Rockin' Girl Bloggers

Susan Higginbotham very kindly named me as one of her Rockin' Girl Bloggers, which I gather means I'm to nominate five more. See Susan's post for the pretty pink button thingy that goes with the nomination; I can't figure out the code.

I'm very late to the party on this meme, owing to pressure of work, so most people have already been tagged. As it's a girls-only thing, I'm not allowed to recommend Rick, Martin Rundqvist of Aardvarchaeology or Scott Oden.

So here are some girls' blogs that are well worth reading and that don't already seem to have been nominated (as far as I know):

  • Constance - writer of poetry, keeper of Corgis, and creator of fearsome gnomes

  • Anne Gilbert - newcomer to the blogosphere and writer of historical science fiction. Welcome, Anne!

  • Elizabeth Chadwick - posts on the medieval history background to her novels and occasional re-enactment pics

  • Maxine Clarke of Petrona - publishing news and crime fiction (currently taking a break)

  • Lucy Ann White - book reviews, gardening and South Africa

I just copied and pasted the pink thing as a photo.

Cute corgis of Constance's!

They're gorgeous, aren't they? A relative of mine used to have a Corgi and it was a bad-tempered snappy little dog, but Constance's Corgis look sweet.

Hey, thanks! I'm a girl at heart, though.

Hello Martin, and you're welcome! In that case, consider yourself nominated :-)

Lol, it spreads. :) Congrats on catching one - I've always problems to restrict my lists since everyone on my blogroll rocks. :)

Gabriele - yes, I have the same problem. I could have just said "See blogroll", but I thought I'd single out a few that don't seem to have caught this particular one yet.

Congrats, Carla! I should nominate five bloggers for the award, too, but I find it so hard to choose just five, and then I feel guilty for not choosing other people. ;)

Oh, Constance caught it from me. :)

Alianore - I know the feeling :-)

Gabriele - Okay, I can't count...

Thanks Carla, I'm late to teh party as usual...

My Corgis are sweet, brothers, and very photogenic. My brother accused them of being 'publicity hounds'. I just think puppies that adorable should be shared - something along the lines of "Behold the awesome power of Corgi cuteness!" :)

Constance - your Corgis are gorgeous, and they certainly know how to pose for the camera!

Hey Carla, thanks for nominating me as one of your Rockin' Girl Bloggers, I'm honoured. And what great company to be in - they're all so interesting. Shall have to factor in some more blog reading time.

Lucy - you're welcome! Don't forget you can nominate five of your own if you want to pass it on.

Hi, Carla:

I'm a little late to this party. But first I'd like to thank you for nominating me to be a "rockin' girl blogger"(I'm kinda learning as I go). Second, I'd like to make a teeny little correction. I'm actually writing historical science fiction If anybody will be so kind as to visit my blog site, The Writer's Daily Grind, the picture that confronts you there, will tell you why. I won't let on any more, except that I'm trying to make the "historical" part as accurate as I can make it.

My blog is at http://www.writersdailygrind.blogspot.com
