A few varieties start out as cooking apples and turn into eating apples during storage.

Gabriele - Yes, it's a completely different style of cake than Apfelkuchen. I've never tried it with vanilla ice cream. You could always try it and see; though cream cheese icing as well would probably be overkill!Carlahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11901028520813891575noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19922276.post-37363457238434048112011-11-26T20:20:03.438+00:002011-11-26T20:20:03.438+00:00That one's very different from German Apfelkuc...That one's very different from German Apfelkuchen (which keeps the slices of apple intact) but I wonder if it would equally well go with vanilla ice cream. :)Gabriele Campbellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17205770868139083575noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19922276.post-49624031884249655632011-11-26T15:36:47.285+00:002011-11-26T15:36:47.285+00:00As usual I will merely note how good this looks/so...As usual I will merely note how good this looks/sounds.

Though I didn't know there were cooking apples different from eating apples.Rickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16932015378213238346noreply@blogger.com
